Form Three student in custody for chopping cousin's hand during fight

A Form Three student is currently being held at Kosele Police Station in Rachuonyo South sub-county after allegedly injuring his cousin during a violent altercation in Aolo village, located in East Kamagak.

According to authorities, the 15-year-old suspect reportedly attacked his cousin, a Grade Seven pupil, using a machete, severing her left hand.

Senior Assistant Chief Daniel Odhiambo of Kawere West Sub-location told Citizen Digital that the incident began when the suspect was given money to buy sugar but failed to do so.

When his cousin confronted him about it, he allegedly became aggressive and turned violent.

Tragically, the victim lost her hand while trying to break up the fight between the two.

Neighbors who heard the disturbance hurried to the scene and found the girl in severe pain.

She was quickly taken to Rachuonyo South Sub-county Hospital in Oyugis for emergency treatment, while the suspect was apprehended and taken to the local police station.

Rachuonyo South Sub-county Police Commander Philemon Saera confirmed the attack and stated that the student will remain in custody as investigations continue.
